Alentejo municipalities announce infrastructure works and expanded scholarships

The Municipality of Alcácer do Sal has begun infrastructure works in Vale de Guizo to stabilize a slope and reconstruct a support wall using gabions. The project, costing over 120,000 euros, follows a previous wall collapse and aims to restore road circulation and enhance local safety. This intervention is part of ongoing efforts to repair municipal services damaged by weather events earlier this year.

In Viana do Alentejo, the municipal council has expanded its scholarship program for students facing economic hardship. Applications are open until November 2. The updated regulations now include Higher Professional Technical Courses (CTeSP) and distance learning programs at public higher education institutions within Portugal. The scholarships, fully funded by the municipality, can cover up to ten months of study, with payments scheduled for December and April.
