Alentejo region commits over €70 million to Portugal 2030 plan and launches €5.8 million sustainable mobility fund

The Inter‑Municipal Community of Alto Alentejo (CIMAA) announced that the Portugal 2030 Pact for the Alentejo region exceeds €70 million, with €12 million slated for execution this year and more than €2 million of private investment. Priorities include housing, urban renewal, water management, health and education services, and improvements to inter‑municipal transport networks. As the president of CIMAA, Joaquim Diogo, noted, “Fomos das comunidades intermunicipais que, no ano de 2025, conseguimos acelerar mais o processo de utilização dos meios de financiamento no PT 2030.”

Separately, the Alentejo Regional Development Commission (CCDR) opened a competition funded by the European Regional Development Fund with a total budget of €5 829 500, offering up to 85 % co‑financing. The scheme supports sustainable urban mobility projects, allocating €1 278 500 for digitalised transport solutions and €4 551 000 for active mobility (pedestrian and cycling) initiatives. Applications are accepted in phases, with the first deadline on 30 April and the final on 31 May 2027.
