Alessandra Durand to debut Amazonian-inspired collection at NY Fashion Week

Peruvian designer and sustainability activist Alessandra Durand will debut her Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled ‘Rivers of My Soul’, at the Indigenous New York Fashion Week (INYFW). The event, part of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) calendar, will be broadcast live from Rockefeller Center.

The collection highlights Amazonian culture and the protection of Peruvian jungle rivers. The presentation features a collaboration with Shipibo-Konibo artist and leader Olinda Silvano, who will perform sacred ‘ícaro’ chants and incorporate kené art into the show. This partnership stems from a seven-year co-creative relationship between Durand’s brand, Kené Kaya, and the Shinan Imabo artisanal collective.
