Alessandra Rojo de la Vega leads community outreach in Cuauhtémoc
Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, the mayor of Cuauhtémoc, led the ‘Alcaldía en tus manos’ (Mayoralty in your hands) initiative in the Colonia Obrera neighborhood of Mexico City. Accompanied by her cabinet of general directors, the mayor walked the streets to listen to residents' requests, suggestions, and complaints directly at their homes.
The program aims to identify infrastructure needs in streets, sidewalks, and public spaces. While some issues are addressed immediately by on-site personnel, others are channeled for follow-up. Recent maintenance efforts in the area include 814 square meters of pothole repair, 634 pedestrian and vehicular marking actions—including disability parking spaces—and 790 linear meters of drainage cleaning for gutters and storm drains.
The initiative is scheduled to continue across all 33 neighborhoods within the Cuauhtémoc borough.
