Alessandria families receive funding for school vouchers
The Piedmont Region has announced the funding of 7,190 families in the province of Alessandria for the 2026/2027 school year through the Voucher Scuola B program. This funding is intended to cover the costs of textbooks, educational materials, technological tools, and school transportation.
A significant change in this cycle is that 100% of the admitted applications for Voucher B in the province of Alessandria have been funded. This was made possible by adjusting the ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) criteria; the effective coverage threshold for Voucher B rose to an ISEE of 15,748 euros, up from approximately 8,200 euros in the previous school year. Across the entire Piedmont region, 76,536 beneficiaries were approved, an increase of over 28,000 compared to the previous year.
Regarding Voucher A, which supports enrollment and attendance fees for private schools, 207 families in the Alessandria province were included in the first allocation. This voucher covers an ISEE up to 22,876.38 euros. Regional councilor Silvia Raiteri of Fratelli d'Italia described the full coverage in Alessandria as a major achievement aimed at mitigating the impact of inflation and rising school material costs on family budgets.
