Italian police arrest suspects in football violence, train theft and other crimes

In Pontedera, local police arrested a man who had left his house‑arrest confinement to drive and strike a pedestrian, finding no authorised work‑related exemption. In Lecce, a 31‑year‑old under house arrest was seized after threatening his mother, barricading an apartment, climbing onto a roof and attempting to jump, later receiving medical care. Finally, in Reggio Emilia, a 25‑year‑old Moroccan man was convicted for attempting to break into the Ami market in Via Sani, receiving a two‑month jail term and a fine. Each case involved charges such as resistance to public officials, aggravated theft, evasion of judicial measures and threats.
