Alessandro Basciano sent to trial for stalking charges
Alessandro Basciano has been sent to trial in Milan on charges of persecutory behavior and stalking against his former partner, Sophie Codegoni. The preliminary hearing, overseen by Judge Lorenza Pasquinelli, resulted in a decision to proceed to a full trial, which is scheduled to begin on January 20, 2027.
The prosecution alleges that between 2023 and 2024, Basciano engaged in aggressive verbal behavior, attempts at control, and constant intrusions into Codegoni’s private life. Specific allegations include threatening voice messages, stalking, and receiving up to 60 calls or video calls per day. One incident cited occurred in Paris in September 2024, involving an alleged physical altercation.
Basciano has consistently denied all accusations. His lawyer, Leonardo D’Erasmo, emphasized that the referral to trial is not a conviction but an opening for the defense to present evidence. The legal team has called for privacy and restraint in media coverage to protect the interests of the couple’s daughter.
