Alessandro Brito, the former sports management director of Botafogo, has transitioned to a new role as the head scout for Crystal Palace. Brito was a key figure in Botafogo’s transformation into a football corporation (SAF) and contributed to the club's recent successes, including titles in the Libertadores and the Campeonato Brasileiro in 2024.

In recent comments, Brito expressed a deep emotional connection to Botafogo, stating that the club changed his life and that he has become a supporter of the team. He described his departure not as a final goodbye, but as an ‘até logo’ (see you later), noting that the doors remain open for a potential future return.

Botafogo president John Textor acknowledged Brito’s departure, describing him as a great professional whose dedication will be missed while expressing respect for his new career path.
