Alessandro Fanti joins Futuro Nazionale in Latina

Alessandro Fanti, a city councilor in Latina who entered the council in March as a member of the Lega, officially left the party and joined the newly formed Futuro Nazionale. The move makes him the first Futuro Nazionale representative elected to a municipal body in the province of Latina.

The party’s national coordinator, Massimiliano Simoni, said Fanti will be tasked with “launching, structuring and rooting” Futuro Nazionale throughout the province. In his statement, Fanti highlighted the movement’s focus on a tough security line against crime and a radical reduction of tax burdens for businesses and self‑employed professionals. The switch reduces the Lega’s presence on the Latina council, where it already lost a regional councillor in Pisa, and may affect the governing majority led by mayor Matilde Celentano.

Fanti’s departure follows internal discussions within the centre‑right coalition, with the Lega’s local group now reduced to three councilors. Futuro Nazionale aims to expand its local influence ahead of the 2027 national elections.
