Alessandro Riccio transfers from Sampdoria to Pogoń Szczecin

Defender Alessandro Riccio is set to transfer from Sampdoria to the Polish top-division club Pogoń Szczecin. The 24-year-old center-back, a former Juventus academy player, has reportedly arrived in Poland to undergo medical examinations.

Riccio was excluded from Sampdoria’s squad list for the upcoming Serie B season by coach Bernardo Corradi. Because his current contract with the Italian club runs until June 2027, the move will be a permanent transfer rather than a loan.

While Sampdoria will not receive an immediate transfer fee for the player, the deal includes clauses for potential future earnings, including a percentage of any subsequent sale by Pogoń Szczecin. The move allows Sampdoria to remove an excess player from their roster following the arrival of Yann Karamoh.
