Alessia Kanzler achieves master hairdresser certification

Alessia Kanzler, a 24-year-old hairdresser from Mannheim, has successfully obtained her master craftsman certificate (Meisterbrief) in the hairdressing trade. After completing her initial training and working as a journewoman in Heidelberg, Kanzler pursued the master title to further her professional development and prepare for future goals, including self-employment and training new apprentices.

The master craftsman examination consists of four components: practical expertise, technical theory, business and legal knowledge, and vocational pedagogy. In the German Qualifications Framework, the master certificate is classified at Level 6, making it equivalent to an academic bachelor's degree. This qualification enables graduates to manage their own businesses and train the next generation of skilled workers, a role increasingly vital given the ongoing shortage of skilled labor in the craft sector.
