Alessio Lisi criticizes VAR after PAOK loss to Panathinaikos

PAOK coach Alessio Lisi expressed strong frustration regarding officiating and VAR decisions following his team's 3-1 defeat against Panathinaikos in the Super League.

Lisi specifically criticized the failure of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to intervene during a controversial phase involving player Ndiaye, asserting that a clear penalty should have been awarded. He contrasted this with a previous instance where VAR intervened to overturn a corner kick, calling the inconsistency “unbelievable.”

Lisi also linked the current officiating issues to the club's recent European exclusion, claiming they were denied a legitimate penalty in that instance as well. Regarding the match itself, he noted that a red card significantly altered the game's course and addressed tactical decisions, including the substitution of Andrija and the integration of Diego Costa.
