Alex Albon recounts unexpected meeting with Max Verstappen

Formula 1 driver Alex Albon shared an unexpected encounter with Max Verstappen during his summer break in Sardinia. Speaking on the Williams Racing official podcast, Team Torque, alongside Carlos Sainz and James Vowles, Albon described his attempts to learn e-foiling.

Albon recounted how he struggled to maintain balance on the electric hydrofoil board while observing Verstappen gliding past with ease. The encounter became more personal when it was discovered that their partners, Kelly Piquet and Lily, were also acquaintances. Verstappen jokingly commented on seeing Albon fall from the board during the interaction.

Albon noted that the moment provided a humorous reprieve from the competitive pressures of the racing season, highlighting the camaraderie that exists between drivers outside of the circuit.
