Alex Baena criticizes José Mourinho after Madrid derby

Atlético Madrid midfielder Alex Baena has criticized Real Madrid manager José Mourinho following the recent Madrid derby. The comments follow Mourinho’s controversial post-match press conference, where the Portuguese coach presented printed photographs to argue that two fouls by opposing players should have resulted in red cards.

Mourinho claimed the officiating and VAR decisions were “very strange” and suggested that the match could have been controlled differently had the refereeing been more consistent. In response, Baena characterized Mourinho’s display as a “tantrum” and a sign that the manager “does not know how to lose.” Baena argued that Real Madrid tends to seek external excuses regarding refereeing whenever they suffer a defeat against their local rivals.
