Alex Borucki wins bronze at Canoe Sprint World Championships

Alex Borucki, a 20-year-old athlete from KKW 1929 Kraków, won the bronze medal in the K1 500m sprint at the senior World Championships held in Poznań. This achievement marks Poland's first senior world championship medal in this discipline in 15 years.

Borucki led the race for the first half, covering the first 250 meters in 47.29 seconds. However, he was overtaken in the second half by Olympic champion Thomas Green of Australia, who took gold with a time of 1:37.66, and Adam Varga of Hungary, who secured silver. Borucki finished with a time of approximately 1:38.95.

Following the race, Borucki noted that his lane near the warm-up zone was challenging due to waves that obstructed his view of competitors, but he was able to maintain his position on the podium.
