Alex DeBrincat expresses desire to stay with Detroit Red Wings

Alex DeBrincat has expressed his desire to remain with the Detroit Red Wings despite ongoing organizational uncertainty. The star forward, who led the team last season with 41 goals, is entering the final year of a four-year, $31.5 million contract.

While contract extension discussions are currently stalled due to the team's management transition, DeBrincat stated that his intention is to stay in Detroit. The Red Wings are currently searching for a new general manager following Steve Yzerman's move to a senior advisor role, with Shawn Horcoff temporarily overseeing operations.

DeBrincat also commented on teammate Dylan Larkin, who previously requested a trade. DeBrincat described Larkin as a great teammate and leader, noting that the team is better with him on the roster. The Red Wings are preparing for their season opener against the New York Rangers on October 2.
