Alex Eala named to Forbes Asia 30 Under 30

Filipino tennis player Alex Eala has been named to the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 2026 list for Entertainment and Sports. She is one of only two Filipinos honored this year, alongside singer Zack Tabudlo.

Eala’s recognition follows a significant period in her career, including reaching a career-high WTA ranking of World No. 29 in March 2026. She has been credited with increasing interest in tennis within the Philippines.

In a recent strategic decision, Eala chose to skip the mandatory China Open to represent the Philippines at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. Despite the risk of fines and ranking point restrictions, Eala stated she prioritized the opportunity to compete with her national team. During the Asian Games, she secured a bronze medal in singles and competed in the women’s doubles event.
