Alex Eala reaches career-high No. 18 WTA ranking
Filipino tennis star Alex Eala has reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of world No. 18, making her the highest-ranked Southeast Asian woman in history. This milestone comes as she competes in the 2026 US Open.
During the tournament, Eala participated in a mixed doubles match alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime, where they faced Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina. She is also scheduled to compete in the ‘Stars of the Open’ exhibition match against Iva Jovic, with proceeds benefiting the USTA Foundation.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Eala has garnered attention from fashion icon Anna Wintour, who praised the young athlete’s growing interest in fashion and self-expression.
