Alex Escobar updates fans on health after tumor surgery
Journalist and Globo presenter Alex Escobar has provided an update on his health following surgery to remove a tumor from his thymus. The procedure took place in August after medical investigations were triggered by an incident where he fell ill during a live broadcast of 'Encontro' in New Jersey on June 22.
Escobar, who is also living with myasthenia, shared that while the tumor appeared to have benign characteristics, the removal was a necessary part of his treatment. Through social media, he expressed gratitude for the support from his family, friends, and colleagues, noting that he is currently in a recovery phase.
Regarding his professional future, Escobar stated that he is not yet ready to return to full-time television commitments. He emphasized that he needs more time to recover, stating, “I’m going to be fine, I just need time.”
