Alex Fine predicts crypto on‑ramps and bridges will become obsolete
Alex Fine, chief executive of payments‑infrastructure startup Fun, told CoinDesk that independent fiat on‑ramps and cross‑chain bridges will disappear as crypto payments are embedded directly within applications. He argues users care about completing actions inside the app rather than converting fiat to crypto.
Fun processes roughly $3 billion of transaction volume each month, handles 100 % of Polymarket deposits and the largest inflows to Aave’s biggest vault, and recently closed a $72 million Series A round led by Multicoin Capital and SignalFire. The company has no token, earns revenue from fiat‑to‑on‑chain conversions, and claims conversion rates 3.4‑8× higher than existing aggregators such as MoonPay and Stripe. Fun plans to expand its engineering team and open a new office in Singapore.
