Alex Marquez on Sachsenring MotoGP sprint and rider injuries

Alex Marquez (rider 73) secured a runner‑up finish in the Sprint race at the Sachsenring, marking his first podium since returning from the Montmeló crash. He said his physical condition had improved but he remained cautious, noting he was still “too rigid” on the bike and had to manage tyre wear to defend his position against Fabio Di Giannantonio.

Marquez also commented on fellow rider Marco Bezzecchi’s qualifying crash, which left Bezzecchi with a fractured collarbone. He drew parallels with his own heavy crash at Assen, explaining that riders who are not fully recovered can make unexpected mistakes despite having the speed and mentality. Marquez expressed sympathy and wished Bezzecchi a speedy recovery, adding that the summer break would aid his comeback for the next race at Silverstone. Both Alex and his brother Marc were still fine‑tuning their recovery after earlier injuries, aiming to improve performance for the remainder of the season.
