Alex Miller Releases Lost Alan Jackson Song “Secondhand Smoke”

Country singer Alex Miller, a 23‑year‑old from Kentucky, has included an unreleased Alan Jackson track on his new album More Country Than You, slated for release in spring 2026. The song, titled “Secondhand Smoke,” was co‑written by Jackson and songwriter Jim McBride in the 1990s but was never recorded by Jackson. Miller says McBride, who died in January, personally recommended the song to him before his death.

The album, Miller’s follow‑up to his 2022 debut Miller Time, also features a cover of Daryle Singletary’s “Too Much Fun” and a tribute song “Just a Mom,” co‑written by Wood Newton. Miller, who first gained fame on American Idol in 2021, describes the project as a traditional‑country effort that honors classic songwriting while showcasing his own material.
