Alex Nikolov reflects on Bulgaria's EuroVolley loss to Germany

Bulgarian volleyball player Alex Nikolov has reflected on his team's loss to Germany in the EuroVolley 1/8-finals. Nikolov admitted that Germany played better in the final stages of the match and took responsibility for the team's performance, noting a lack of energy and efficiency in his own attacking play during the final three sets.

Following the match, former Polish national team libero and world champion Krzysztof Ignaczak commented on a gesture made by Nikolov during the tiebreaker. Ignaczak suggested that such conduct could serve as additional motivation for the Polish national team should they face Bulgaria again in the quarter-finals of EuroVolley 2026.
