Alex Nylander to sign PTO with Calgary Flames

Alex Nylander is set to sign a professional tryout (PTO) with the Calgary Flames ahead of next month’s training camp. The 28-year-old forward is departing the Toronto Maple Leafs organization as a free agent.

Nylander recently experienced success in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Toronto Marlies, where he recorded 24 goals and 53 points in 65 games, contributing to a Calder Cup championship. While he has struggled to maintain a consistent presence in the NHL—appearing in only five games for the Maple Leafs over the last two seasons—he has a career total of 126 NHL games with 25 goals and 49 points.

In the AHL, Nylander has proven to be a dominant producer, totaling 89 goals and 179 points over his last 227 minor league games.
