Alex Palou clinches fourth straight IndyCar pole at Gateway
Alex Palou captured his fourth consecutive NTT INDYCAR Series pole at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois, posting a two‑lap average of 174.353 mph in the No. 10 HRC Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. The pole was his fifth of the nine‑race season and placed him ahead of David Malukas (second) and Kyle Kirkwood (third) as he leads the championship by 62 points.
The result sets the starting grid for the 10th‑anniversary Bommarito Automotive Group 500, which will begin at 9 p.m. ET on FOX with streaming available via the Fox Sports app and major live‑TV services. Palou praised the car’s balance, saying it was "on rails" and "incredible," while Malukas described the qualifying session as a "guessing game" for setup.
The race features a strong field of 25 drivers, including defending winner Kirkwood and former Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist, and will be broadcast with audio on the INDYCAR Radio Network and SiriusXM INDYCAR Nation.
