Alex Palou wins Portland Grand Prix, nears fourth consecutive IndyCar title

Alex Palou secured his sixth victory of the season and 25th career win at the Portland Grand Prix, moving closer to a potential fourth consecutive IndyCar Series title. Driving for Chip Ganassi Racing, Palou utilized an ‘overcut’ pit strategy to overtake pole-sitter Felix Rosenqvist. Palou now holds a 110-point lead in the championship over Kyle Kirkwood with five rounds remaining.

Felix Rosenqvist finished second for Meyer Shank Racing, while Will Power took third in his debut race with Andretti Global. The podium finishers expressed differing views on race conditions; Rosenqvist and Power criticized the impact of lapped traffic on race pace, suggesting a need for rule changes, whereas Palou indicated he saw no reason to alter current regulations.
