In a YouTube video, Pereira said Gane landed several illegal elbows and back‑of‑head strikes, which he believes the referee, Herb Dean, failed to halt. He called Dean’s handling of the fight “irresponsible” and warned that such negligence could merit legal consequences in Brazil.

Pereira also noted that Gane’s victory earned the French fighter a potential title shot against Tom Aspinall, who has expressed interest in a bout in September. The Brazilian fighter did not rule out returning to the light‑heavyweight division, as discussed in a later interview with Joe Rogan.
