Alex Pereira faces criticism from Bisping and Cejudo over UFC grievances

Former UFC champion Michael Bisping and former two-division champion Henry Cejudo have both responded to recent criticisms made by Alex Pereira regarding UFC fight scheduling and opportunities.

Bisping defended the UFC 334 main event lineup, specifically the decision to place the heavyweight title fight above the Kayla Harrison versus Amanda Nunes matchup. He argued that the heavyweight championship holds traditional significance and noted the recent high-profile appearances of the heavyweight participants. Bisping suggested that Pereira’s frustrations regarding the Madison Square Garden running order might be influenced by his own disappointment following his fight with Ciryl Gane.

Separately, Henry Cejudo criticized Pereira for complaining about his path to title opportunities. Cejudo argued that the UFC has provided Pereira with preferential treatment, allowing him to rise through the rankings and secure an interim title shot much faster than traditional contenders who must fight through the top 10. Cejudo noted that while Pereira's knockout style is popular with casual fans, he has benefited from a rapid ascent facilitated by the organization.
