Alex Poatan aims for UFC triple championship despite heavyweight loss

Brazilian fighter Alex Poatan (Alex Pereira) reiterated his goal of becoming a three‑division UFC champion after a defeat to Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight belt in June. Speaking at a fan Q&A in Belgrade, Serbia, Poatan said he wants to fight again before pursuing another title shot, emphasizing his “mission” to win a third belt.

He noted that current heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall is recovering from eye surgery, while Gane awaits a unification bout with Aspinall. Poatan listed possible next opponents such as Josh Hokit, Alexander Volkov and Sergei Pavlovich, and affirmed he will take any challenger the organization assigns.
