Alex Rins seeks WorldSBK ride for 2027 after Yamaha exit
Spanish MotoGP rider Alex Rins announced publicly that he will not have a contract for the 2027 MotoGP season after Yamaha confirmed his departure at the end of 2024.
He said he is searching for a ride in the World Superbike championship, looking for a competitive bike and mentioning a possible factory Ducati seat with Aruba.it Racing if rider Nicolò Bulega moves to MotoGP. Rins stressed he wants to keep racing rather than become a test rider and indicated openness to other series such as MotoAmerica, Superbike or car rallying.
Rins reflected on his three difficult seasons with Yamaha, where his best result was seventh at the 2023 Australian Grand Prix, after earlier successes with Suzuki (four wins) and a win with LCR Honda before a leg fracture at Mugello. He noted that several other MotoGP riders may also be without seats for 2027, highlighting a broader rider‑market shift.
