Alex Rins to retire from MotoGP in 2026, eyes motorsport transition

MotoGP rider Alex Rins has announced he will retire from motorcycle racing at the end of the 2026 season following the conclusion of his contract with Yamaha. While his departure from two-wheeled racing is confirmed, his future career path remains undecided.

Rins indicated a strong interest in transitioning to four-wheel motorsport. During media activities at the Red Bull Ring, he noted that cars have always interested him and that he has practiced driving in snowy conditions. He stated that while nothing is finalized, he is considering several options, including competing in the Dakar Rally or entering Formula 3.

“There is that possibility, yes. In the same way that there is the possibility of me entering a Formula 3 car,” Rins said, adding that he is currently working on potential projects.
