Alex Ross announces new Marvel Dimensions graphic novel

Artist Alex Ross is releasing a new graphic novel titled ‘Marvel Dimensions’ through the Abrams ComicArts imprint. The project, which follows his 2022 work ‘Fantastic Four: Full Circle’, is designed to accommodate creative ideas that fall outside the standard publishing bandwidth of Marvel.

The book utilizes a unique dual format. The first half features Ross’s signature painted style, presenting origin stories for various Marvel characters, ranging from the original robotic Human Torch to Jean Grey as the Phoenix. The second half shifts to a 32-page comic book insert rendered in pen and ink, a departure from Ross’s usual medium. This narrative section explores a subversive ‘In-Verse’ concept where iconic heroes are reimagined as villains in a world of inverted realities.
