Alex Sarr to participate partially in Wizards training camp

Washington Wizards general manager Will Dawkins announced that center Alex Sarr will be a partial participant in the upcoming training camp as he recovers from surgery. Sarr underwent an operation in June to repair a fracture in his right foot sustained during an offseason workout.

Despite the limited participation during camp, Dawkins expressed optimism that Sarr will be ready for the start of the regular season on October 21. Sarr, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft, is expected to play a major role in the Wizards' revamped frontcourt.

The team has bolstered its interior presence with the addition of Anthony Davis and Deandre Ayton. Dawkins highlighted the improved frontcourt depth as a primary strength for the upcoming season, noting that the team aims to return to postseason contention.
