Alex Schlüter admits to taking VfL Wolfsburg penalty spot

Sportschau moderator Alex Schlüter revealed during the podcast ‘Kerners 11’ that he took a penalty spot from the VfL Wolfsburg stadium nearly 30 years ago.

Schlüter, who was approximately 12 years old at the time, confessed to cutting out the penalty spot during the celebrations following VfL Wolfsburg's 5-4 victory against FSV Mainz 05 on June 11, 1997. This match secured Wolfsburg's promotion to the Bundesliga. Schlüter noted that the penalty spot is currently located in a garden in Bahrdorf.

Despite the admission, Schlüter described the incident as a ‘total beautiful memory.’ He also expressed his disappointment regarding the recent relegation of his favorite club, VfL Wolfsburg.
