Manchester United intensifies chase for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott

Manchester United are actively pursuing Alex Scott, the 22‑year‑old Bournemouth midfielder who has turned down the club’s contract‑extension offer. Scott’s current deal runs until June 2028, and Bournemouth are keen to keep him, especially as they prepare for their first Europa League campaign under Marco Rose.

United’s midfield has been weakened by the departure of Casemiro and an injury to Manuel Ugarte, prompting the club to seek a replacement before the transfer window closes. Alongside Scott, other names linked to United include Aurelien Tchouameni and Andrey Santos, while the club has already secured goalkeeper Ederson from Atalanta. Arsenal and Chelsea are also monitoring Scott’s situation.

If United can meet Bournemouth’s valuation—reported around £80 million—they would add a box‑to‑box option to Michael Carrick’s midfield, addressing a key squad need ahead of the new season.
