Alex Shimuafeni reappointed as Namibia's Statistician-General

The Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) Board has extended the contract of Statistician-General Alex Shimuafeni for an additional five years. The new term will run from 1 October 2026 through 30 September 2031.

Looking ahead, Shimuafeni will lead the implementation of the NSA’s 2027–2032 Strategic Plan. This plan is designed to align with Namibia’s Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6), focusing on data-driven economic development, statistical coordination, and evidence-based planning across the country’s 14 regions.
