Botafogo and Palmeiras secure key players with contract renewals

Alex Telles has renewed his contract with Botafogo until the end of 2028. The captain and left-back, a key figure from the club’s 2024 championship season, stated that the negotiation was handled calmly and prioritized the club’s stability during a period of transition. Telles described his time at Botafogo as ‘an experience of life’ rather than just a career move, expressing deep emotional identification with the institution.

Separately, Palmeiras has extended the contract of 21-year-old left-back Arthur until December 2030. The move aims to protect the homegrown talent from international interest, following previous interest from clubs such as Fiorentina and Neom. Arthur, who has become a significant rotation player for the squad, has been with the club since the under-11 category.
