Alex Zanardi honored in special Rai 1 tribute

The Rai 1 program ‘A Sua Immagine’ will broadcast a special tribute to Alex Zanardi, honoring the late champion as an example of courage and altruism. The episode will trace his journey from Formula 1 racing to his transformative life following a 2001 accident that resulted in the loss of both legs.

Following the accident, Zanardi achieved significant success in handbike racing, becoming a prominent figure at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. The program will also highlight his commitment to social inclusion through ‘Obiettivo3’, a project designed to support people with disabilities in entering Paralympic sports, and the ‘Staffetta Tricolore’, a relay race he championed as a symbol of hope during the pandemic.
