Alexander Afenyo-Markin vows NPP will challenge government
At the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Delegates Congress in Kumasi, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin vowed that the opposition will continue to demand accountability from the Mahama government. He stated that the NPP would use parliamentary and democratic processes to scrutinize government decisions, asserting that critics should be able to express views without fear of arrest or intimidation.
Afenyo-Markin urged NPP members to maintain a strong stance against government policies and called for party unity to prepare for the 2028 general election. He expressed confidence in the party's leadership, specifically citing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a problem solver.
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor also addressed the congress via video message, advising delegates to carefully select the next generation of national leaders to ensure future prosperity.
