Alexander Harris found dead in Pakistan mountain accident
The body of Alexander Harris, a 30-year-old British and Irish national, has been recovered in northern Pakistan following an extensive search operation. Harris went missing while descending the 13,500-foot Musa Ka Musalla peak in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Authorities report that Harris and his companion, Alun David Cooper Cledwyn, became separated during their descent. It is suspected that Harris slipped due to adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain and dense fog, and fell into a ravine. The search, which involved approximately 300 police officers, volunteers, and drones, located his body in a forested area of the Paracha Khatta region.
Local officials noted that the climbers had ascended the mountain without obtaining the required no-objection certificates. Harris, an experienced hiker and member of the Islamabad-based Margalla Trail Runners, had been living in Pakistan and working for the advisory firm Adam Smith International.
