Alexander Held to star in final ‘Stralsund’ episode

The ZDF crime series ‘Stralsund’ will air its final episode featuring actor Alexander Held in the episode ‘Stralsund – Dunkle Tiefen’. The broadcast is scheduled for October 31, 2026, with streaming availability on the ZDF Mediathek starting October 24, 2026.

In this final installment, Held portrays Chief Inspector Karl Hidde investigating the death of fishing entrepreneur Hark Reimers, whose body is found in a net. Hidde works alongside Inspector Jule Zabek, played by Sophie Pfennigstorf, to investigate the local fishing community. The episode also explores Hidde’s personal struggles with health and self-doubt.

This marks the end of a 16-year era for the series, during which Held appeared in 27 films. The actor passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 67. While the actor had previously expressed a desire to reduce his workload, this episode serves as a posthumous farewell to one of the series' central figures.
