Alexander Lukashenko affirms Belarus's defensive stance

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that his country has no intention of attacking any neighbors, describing the nation as pragmatic. He emphasized that Belarus must ensure its own security and be prepared to defend every inch of its territory and population, regardless of the cost.

Lukashenko addressed these points during a meeting with military personnel, noting that Belarus frequently experiences airspace violations and provocations. He clarified that preparations are being made to avoid war rather than to initiate it, specifically mentioning that neighbors such as Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Ukraine should not expect an attack.

In conjunction with these security concerns, General Staff Chief Pavel Muraveiko reported that a special operational exercise for communication troops began on September 7. The exercise aims to improve command and control capabilities using new techniques and methods derived from the experience of modern armed conflicts.
