Alexander Lukashenko inspects Belarusian farms and sets harvest targets
President Alexander Lukashenko inspected a private farm in the Zhitkovichi district of the Gomel region to evaluate the progress of the Belarusian harvest and the profitability of local farming. The Gomel region is currently approaching one million tons in grain harvest.
During the inspection, Lukashenko discussed agricultural targets, noting that rapeseed production has reached 140,000 tons and the current grain total is 983,000 tons, with a target of 1.05 million tons expected shortly. The overall grain harvest is projected to reach 1.5 million tons, including 450,000 tons of corn.
Lukashenko also addressed logistical challenges regarding feed from the Pripyat floodplains. To utilize the high-protein grass in these areas, he ordered the development of specialized machinery, such as small mowers and tractors, capable of accessing the floodplains to improve milk yields.
