Alexander Lukashenko proposes new orchard near Minsk

During the ‘Zew Polesia’ ethno-cultural festival in Laskowicze, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced plans to establish a large orchard near Minsk. He proposed using specific fields near the capital for this purpose, suggesting that the orchard would provide a steady supply of apples for the city and improve the area's aesthetic appeal, drawing inspiration from his memories of Chisinau.

During the same event, Lukashenko received a beehive with live bees as a gift from local residents. Observers noted that such displays, involving regional traditions and folk elements, serve as a tool of state propaganda to project an image of the leader as being closely connected to the land and the common people, masking broader political issues and the country's geopolitical dependencies.
