Alexander Neef appointed jury chairman for Neue Stimmen competition

Alexander Neef, the Director of the Opéra national de Paris, has been appointed as the new jury chairman for the final round of the ‘Neue Stimmen’ international singing competition. Organized by the Liz Mohn Stiftung in Gütersloh, the competition has previously served as a career foundation for renowned opera singers such as Michael Volle, Elsa Dreisig, Pene Pati, Christiane Karg, and Jakub Józef Orliński.

Neef, who has been involved with the competition as a juror in preliminary rounds for over 20 years, emphasized his commitment to supporting the next generation of talent. He noted that the competition’s guiding principle, ‘Creating Careers,’ aims to help young singers navigate the international opera industry by providing connections and guidance. Neef stated that while singers must ultimately manage their own paths, the competition seeks to find rare talents possessing the solid vocal technique necessary to sustain a professional career.
