Alexander Pulev discusses Bulgaria's modernization with EBRD
Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry, Alexander Pulev, met with representatives from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to discuss the modernization of the country. The discussions focused on deepening the partnership to attract investment, develop infrastructure, and implement new financial instruments.
Key areas of cooperation include the preparation of large-scale infrastructure projects, the use of public-private partnerships to mobilize private capital, and the application of international expertise and best practices provided by the EBRD. Pulev emphasized the need for an economic transformation, stating that the current model, which relies heavily on consumption financed through debt, is unsustainable. Instead, the government aims to focus on high-value-added production and strategic partnerships with established companies. Additionally, the Minister highlighted priorities to improve the business environment by reducing administrative burdens and enhancing coordination between institutions.
