Alexander Skarsgård discusses ‘Wicker’ and avoiding social media

Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård has discussed his approach to fame and his role in the upcoming fantasy film ‘Wicker’. In an interview with The Times, Skarsgård revealed that he avoids reading social media comments, online reviews, or searching for himself on Google to protect his mental well-being. He noted that focusing on even a single negative comment can outweigh multiple positive ones, and that overthinking positive feedback is equally unhelpful.

Skarsgård stars in ‘Wicker’ alongside Olivia Colman. The film follows a magical, hand-crafted man made of woven willow and twigs who becomes a devoted husband to a woman in a medieval farming community. Skarsgård described the screenplay as an original exploration of marriage, patriarchy, and society, noting its blend of warmth, humor, and sadness.
