Alexander Stubb compares Ukraine war to Finland's Winter War

Finnish President Alexander Stubb visited Kyiv to mark Ukraine's Independence Day, drawing historical parallels between the current conflict and Finland's own experiences with the Soviet Union.

In an interview with European Pravda, Stubb reflected on the Winter War of 1939, noting that while Finland endured harsh conditions and lost approximately ten percent of its territory, its conflict lasted only 105 days. He contrasted this with the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has surpassed 1,600 days and endured four winters.

Stubb expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people as they face continued Russian aerial attacks targeting civilian infrastructure and energy supplies ahead of the winter season.
