Alexander Woiski joins Deportivo Táchira after leaving River Plate

Alexander Woiski has officially joined Venezuelan club Deportivo Táchira following his departure from River Plate. The forward, who arrived at River in mid-2025 after leaving Mallorca, leaves the Argentine club without having made an official first-team debut.

Despite high expectations and a significant €100 million release clause established during his time at River, Woiski struggled to secure playing time under various coaching staffs, including those of Marcelo Gallardo and Eduardo Coudet. He eventually trained separately before reaching an agreement to leave as a free agent.

Woiski has signed a contract with Deportivo Táchira through December 2027, which includes an option to extend the agreement until 2030. The Venezuelan club announced the signing with enthusiasm as they prepare for the Clausura tournament.
