Alexander Zverev confirms Saudi Six Kings Slam entry and US Open mixed‑doubles participation

German tennis star Alexander Zverev announced that he will compete in the Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament in Riyadh from 21 to 24 October 2026. The event, organised as part of Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Season, offers millions of dollars in prize money but carries no ATP points and has been criticised by Human Rights Watch as a case of “sportswashing”. Zverev posted on Instagram: “I’m very excited.”

He will also take part in the newly‑re‑structured mixed‑doubles competition at the US Open in New York, partnering American player Taylor Townsend. The format, reduced to two‑day play before the main draws, has drawn controversy for its altered schedule and higher prize fund.

In a separate interview with streamer Knossi, Zverev disclosed a personal side, saying he “has very, very few friends” and that the few he has can be counted on one hand. He named Brazilian doubles specialist Marcelo Melo as his closest friend. Zverev also teased former champion Boris Becker’s training stories, remarking “I think Boris also loves to tell stories,” before adding that he “loves Boris but has nothing against him.”
